Idle Musings: guns
Dec. 19th, 2012 10:44 amI wonder if, rather than try to ban guns in the US, which would require a mega mentality shift, all people seeking a gun "for purposes of defence" should be required to pass a test on a gun range where the targets are shooting back?
Because it has always struck me that the real problem with the entire damn argument, is that while holding a gun might be a really good threat to get someone to back off, most people don't think well when someone is shooting at them (or even pelting them with bean bags*).
*damn stupid game played in UK schools when the weather is wet, but it did at least teach you to duck and look for cover.
